Ecological sustainability
SBTi
SBTi (Science-based Targets Initiative) is engaged in the scientific determination of emission reduction targets for companies and organizations. The background to this is the need to limit global warming to well below 2°C, preferably 1.5°C. With our binding SBTi Commitment, we are proactively facing up to this challenge and looking to the future with comprehensive sustainability targets.
Since 2023, we have been officially committed to the science-based, international sustainability program SBTi. Sustainable thinking and action have always been central to our values - both in a social and ecological sense. As part of an important global program, the SBTi Commitment further underlines our move towards future-oriented action.
The SBTi Commitment commits us to reducing around 46.2% of our emissions by 2030. And we are going one step further; thanks to a goal-oriented exchange with our international network, we will go the extra mile together to promote sustainability in the Swiss food industry as a role model.

Update 2023: STUTZER & Co. AG reduces emissions by 60% and achieves its 2030 climate target as early as 2023
In line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), STUTZER & Co. AG pursues ambitious, scientifically validated climate targets so it can contribute to global climate protection. The company has undertaken to reduce its absolute greenhouse gas emissions from Scope 1 (direct emissions from energy consumption) and Scope 2 (indirect emissions from energy consumption) of 63 tCO2e by 46.2% by 2030. This objective has been confirmed by the SBTi.
In 2023, STUTZER & Co. AG reached an important milestone on its journey to a more climate-friendly future: the company’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions were reduced by 60% to just 24 tCO2e (see Figure 1). This means that the climate target set for 2030 in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has been met.Â
This success underlines STUTZER & Co. AG’s commitment to climate protection and represents a decisive step towards a sustainable future. Despite this impressive success, STUTZER & Co. AG remains vigilant: protecting the planet is a long-term commitment. STUTZER & Co. AG is planning further action as well as regular emissions monitoring and analysis in order to ensure that the reductions are maintained in the long run. This forward-looking approach is intended not only to consolidate the progress made, but also to provide a stable foundation for future innovation.
